My Internship...

is all officially worked out. I'm working with a woman (Lori Adamski-Peek http://www.adamskipeek.com/) up in Park City. I've already done one shoot with her, and it was great fun. I was wicked sick with a cold, but still managed to enjoy it. I don't know that there was anything remarkable about the experience. I did go to Snowbird for the first time in my life. Oh, and I got to play model. You may soon be seeing the back of my beautiful noggin in the advertising pages of athleta.com. Special. I know.

Image Recovery Software

This is especially for Kelli, but it may be of interest to everyone else.
There is a FREE image/data recovery program that I have found to be very useful for recovering images from corrupted or formatted CF cards. It is called PhotoRec. It is a companion program to TestDisk, both of which can be downloaded at the following web address:

Hope that is helpful. Does anyone know of any other good image recovery programs?

Tom's Show

Hey everybody!

Just FYI - my BFA show is up in Gallery 303 through May 15. The opening last night was great, and the show looks good (if I might say so myself). Check it out when you get a chance.

First Post

I am proud to be the first to post to this here blog. I must admit I have never posted on a blog before in my life. Just the word "blog" rubs me the wrong way, but hey - this is coming from a guy who still doesn't have a cell phone! I am looking forward to hearing what everyone is up to and where you all end up.
Just to stay in keeping with the theme of this little info exchange, let me throw this out there. I have never presented myself as a portrait photographer, but I do well enough and as a rule I have no trouble posing couples and families. Within the past 8 months, however, including within the last week, I have had several opportunities to photograph my 18 year old sister for her senior portraits. It has been a HUGE challenge! Some of the pictures have turned out okay, but in the end I wasn't super excited. The biggest problem I ran into was posing. In nearly every picture I ended up having her fold her arms. How do you pose individuals, especially girls? I'd love some feedback on this one.
